The area is unique in Europe, having been created in little more than 12 years from 22 square kilometres of derelict docks, once the home port of thousands of merchant ships that linked the Empire on which the sun never set. Today Docklands is a go-ahead, thriving city port where the trade is electronic, via a forest of earth station satellite dishes, where the jobs are for dealers in commodities and money, and where the results of £11 billion ($16.5 billion) worth of inward investment can be seen throughout the area. In 2000 nearly two million visitors were attracted, astonished, and agreed that here was a destination offering a glimpse of what stylish living and working should be like. Your guide for Destination Docklands is Terry Walker, acknowledged expert on the area, with many radio and television broadcasts on Docklands to his credit. He has written one million words on London Docklands and his Expertise is in demand from developers and inward investors, anxious to discover where The Property Gold is buried.
